Export Solution options

Postby juan.cristobo » Thu Jan 23, 2014 11:47 am

Hi all:

When I export a Solution I can see several options, one of them is "Export based on DBI files only". What is this option for?

I believe this feature was a direct result of the following (bug) ticket filed by Marc Boegem:

https://support.servoy.com/browse/SVY-4441

The ticket description is:
On exporting a solution the dbi files are ignored.
Instead the actual column info of the connected database is used.
This can not be true, DBI files should always be the leading thing here!
When I don't have an exact copy of the production database, I will end up with columns I don't want.
This situation may happen when you connect with a previous release of your solution and connect it to the same database as the newer release you're working on.
Only thing I can do now is to allow the application server to create the colums and revert the database changes afterwards. Which means a lot of extra work.

Hope this explains it for you.

I guess if you never needed this option you can safely skip it.
