WAR Deployment RMI Port

I am having a number of issues deploying a war file to a Tomcat server all related to the RMI ports. I have no intention of ever using the smart client, this is NG only, can I therefore "remove" the RMI port references from the properties file and expect normal performance from Servoy ?
I hasten to add this appears to work, I have removed references to the webclient references too without issue. What concerns me is that I am creating a problem that will come to light at a later date.
