Designate servoy.properties file location?

Postby Cain » Fri Nov 19, 2004 6:00 pm

On my client's Gentoo Linux server, Servoy Developer uses a servoy.properties file from a different directory than the server.

Dev uses a file in the user's directory, and if we delete that one, Dev creates a new one in the same location.

Is there any way to repoint either Dev or Server so that they'll use the same file? We're not really developing on that machine, but we're using it to edit db servers and such, as some things we can't edit on the servoy-admin page.

did you install the server and developer into 2 different dirs?
Or is it one install?

If that is the case then you need to make sure that the current user can write to the install dir. He should be able to write the servoy.property file. If he can't do that then he will make that file in the home dir.

If developer and server are 2 different dirs. Then the server should load the properties file after the developer has made that one in the HOME dir. (so make sure the developer can't write in the app dir)

Because the property load code always looks first in the home dir to see if the file is there.
