Not sure what the status of adding spell check to Servoy is but on the Mac you might want to look into using the Java Spelling Framework from Apple it could provide spell checking and check as you type features to Servoy when run on the Mac.

Check out the sample code at

http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/S ... mework.htm

and the article at

http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2 ... _java.html

If I understand the licensing agreement correctly you are free to include the code with your application.

This is just another vote for spell-checking. Several of our customers have asked for it.

Servoy team,

Please tell me should I wait for it or look for alternative solution?

Thanks

So are ours. We are just finishing up a large Filemaker to Servoy conversion for a client, and, frankly, I hadn't noticed until this post that there was no spell-check. Is this coming soon?

This topic has almost 500 views; I don't understand why there is still no answer from Servoy (whatever it is, good or bad). :?

Thanks

We are investigating the possibilities as there are quite a few. At the moment it is on the list for 2.5, however we might release it earlier if that is technically feasible. Again: if you need it very urgently for critical projects contact us directly at: sales@servoy.com to see what we can do for you to escalate it.

Perhaps those of us who need spellcheck urgently would be willing to split the cost of having it added quickly?; I'm certainly willing to chip in. Could you give us a cost and then all the people following this post could continue with the discussion and see if we can get it done. Thanks.

We are in the process of reviewing the various java spell checkers that are available at the moment. Once we know which one is the best (functionality and license-wise) integration shouldn't take very long. If you have some spare time feel free to google around and recommend which one you would pick and why.

Spell checking would help me sell a 15-seat system. At the moment the client has a pilot system in Servoy and is bulk-emailing out newsletters created with Servoy -- with spelling mistakes
