Hi all,
I was at a client's site yesterday, and he had previously launched my solution (while it was in alpha) on his Windows XP box. However, I noticed that he had an older (1.5) version of Java, so I updated it on his machine. So far so good.
However, when I tried to relaunch the solution using the desktop shortcut, Servoy Smart Client launched, but it hanged at the message 'Start repository' in the lower left corner of the window. I don't even get to the login screen - it just sits there doing nothing...
So I went along and did the following things, based on the instructions I found on the Forum:
- Stopped Servoy Smart Client
- Flushed the Java cache several times using the Control Panel app and deleted the Java applications and resources from that panel
- Deleted the .servoy folder from the user's Documents and Settings folder
- Restarted the machine several times
Unfortunately, all these efforts did not allow me to solve my problem.
To convince myself of what was going on, I created a new User Profile (admin account) in WinXP - there the solution launched witout a hitch the first time (and all subsequent times)!
Can anyone point me to a way to resolve this situation? My client will not want to switch to another profile just to use his solution...
