refresh the server client connection?

Postby tgs » Tue Jun 24, 2008 10:46 am

We have a continuos problem with the clients functionality. While using the solution on the clients, more and more functions get lost the longer the client is running. Saved related records will not displayed in tabs, no existing records will find on search methode, methods will executed may be correct, but the result is not displayed in the client and so on. When restarting the client and/or deleting the .servoy folder in the home directory, working with the client is well for perhaps two or three hours. For me it seems to be a connection refresh problem between the servoy server and client.

Network and settings:
Fast Ethernet(100Mbit)

Win XP pro Server, Firewall is off
Servoy 3.5.6-build 519
java.vm.version=10.0-b19
java.rmi.server.hostname: is set by IP
servoy.rmiStartPort: 1099
rmi.connection.timeout: 10
ApplicationServer.pingDelay: 30
SocketFactory.useTwoWaySocket: false
SSL is not set

Clients:
iMacs (PPC + Intel), Mac minis (Intel)
Mac OS X 10.4.x
Java version 1.5.0_13-121 (Mac OS X)
Firewalls off

I changed the servoy server settings several times without success.

Thanks for ideas and help, Thomas

If there are connection problems, they should be listed in the server log (accessible via the web admin page). Are there any errors?

Hi Patrick,

currently we have no errors in the servoy server admin.
The issue that seems for me to have a server client connection problem is, that the functions come back if we change to an other table an 'reload' the previous table with i.e. 'show list' or restart the servoy client.
I tried a lot to fix that issue. I have tested the solution on an complete other system and network and it worked without the discribed problems. Also on my developer environment I cannot reproduce the issues on the customers network.
Could it be a Mac problem? On Win XP in a VM I cannot notice such function problems.

Regards, Thomas
