One Client will not update with latest solution build..

Postby Providence1 » Wed Dec 24, 2008 2:03 am

I have one client, on a Mac using Citrix (as they all are), that will not grab the new solution even after I've killed their server properties on the file server and most of the stuff in the java deployment folder so that it will rebuild on the next launch.

Short of deleting all the old solutions on the Servoy server and reinstalling a fresh copy, how do I get this uses profile to force update?

This is a solution that had to be deployed in the middle of the day in order for them to get some crucial updates so I did not have the luxury of afore mentioned solution dump.

Did you import the new solution through the servoy-admin pages or via Developer ?
If the latter then you are required to restart Servoy server to make it see the changes. Only when using the servoy-admin pages then newly connecting clients should load the new release.

Hope this helps.

Always Developer because I never get a good import with the admin pages.

Something always errors out.

I've never had his kind of trouble before. I understand I need a reboot if I'm adding columns, but a user has never not been able to d/l the newest release by closing then opening client. And certainly when I've blown away their servoy.properties, et al. they've been fine.

So I started trying to use the admin pages to import a solution again and the reason I stopped is because it's so buggy because if:
Overwrite repository styles with import version

is unchecked the import will error out.

However, if it is checked it will either crash the server before it reports that it has "deleted" the first style or it will crash the server before it even reports it has deleted the first style.

I assume this is not normal behavior.
