MacOS 10.8.1

Has anyone had issues with the Smart Client (5.2) on the latest MacOS (10.8.1) using Java 6 (1.6.0_33-b03-424). I have a brand new user, trying to install the client but he is running into Java security issues.

We're using a self-signed certificate which may be our problem. He gets the normal dialogs about trusting the certificate and he's able check the boxes to "Always trust...", but still gets a dialog when trying to launch that states the app is requesting access to the computer and will not allow access because of the digital signature. Specifically, it reads "The digital signature is not trusted. Java will not allow any access to this application." There is a checkbox to "Allow all applications from 'myserver.com' with this signature", but it is greyed out and the "Allow" button is also disabled. The only options provided are "Deny" and "Show Details".

We've also tried enabling the Java security settings "Enable online certificate validation" and "Enable list of trusted publishers", but this does not solve it.

I've gone through this process with other Mac users (non-10.8 users) with no problems. I'm thinking this is an issue specific to MacOS 10.8.

Ideas anyone?

Problem Solved!

There is a new setting in MacOS 10.8 System Preferences -> Security and Privacy that allows applications to be downloaded from anywhere. Unchecking this got us past the roadblock for now.
