(fix) slow start of smart-clients on new MacBook Pro

Postby Harjo » Wed Nov 01, 2017 10:16 am

I have already a few months a new MacBook Pro, but I noticed that Java applications (read: webstart appliciations) where starting a lot slower than on my old macbook.
I thought it was maybe I had a wrong dongle or something, but that was not the case.

I found this solution on the internet, and it worked instantly. :D

My java webstart solutions, are now started blazingly fast again!
Hope this helps someone else.

While reading the post you mentioned, I was wondering why this would only help the new MacBook Pro.

I've tried this on my Mid 2014 Mac and first thing I noticed was the insane improvement in speed while launching the debug (smart) client from Eclipse.
First time launch always took forever, now it's almost instant.

So, I guess this fix would benefit all developers on Mac

Thank you Harjo for this info!
The changes in the Host Database on my iMac speed up the Servoy Developer 8.2.1 launch two times faster.
