screen redraw issues on client

Postby RobertMeyer » Tue Sep 28, 2004 9:26 pm

our solution was installed at the client site 2 weeks ago,
and we're experiencing something we've never seen
in the developer environment.

quite often, when selecting an interface element such
as a tab on a tabsheet, the screen fails to redraw.

we find that selecting something that causes another
window to open, such as the about box or preferences,
will cause the screen to update properly.

we're also noticing that when closing the solution, the
screen doesn't update, so it appears to the user that
they're still running our solution, when, in fact, it's been
closed.

we think we have all the other problems under control,
so this could be our last hurdle before going live, which
is scheduled for this coming weekend.

help would be appreciated.

servoy build 276; mac os 10.3

we're really nervous about upgrading everything at this point;
we're trying to go live tomorrow (monday, 10/4) and can't
make a change of that magnitude right at this moment. we intend
to upgrade as soon as possible after the client is up & running
for a week or so.

meanwhile, i just noticed this on my terminal window; could this
have anything at all to do with the redraw problems we're seeing?

the line about "java couldn't paint" really sounds like a clue. if there's anything
you can do to get us past this, we'd be very greatful. thanks again for all your
help..

Do you also see this on a windows client?

That trace could be causing a paint problem, but that trace contains only system code. No code of us.

I would really urge you to setup a second servoy install of 2.1 (completely seperate of the 2.0.x install). I can provide you with the latest 2.1.1 code wich is just around the corner. So that you can test and walk through you solution on 2.1(.1) level.

there are no windows clients currently.

i'll pass your suggestion on to the project manager
to see if another machine can be setup for testing
