Launch a solution without the select solution window

Postby Rene » Tue Dec 07, 2004 2:32 pm

Hello everybody,

How can I launch a solution without the "select solution" window opens

http://195.75.197.210:8080/servoy-clien ... n=helpdesk

Still activates the "select solution" window.

Next question how can I create a shortcut to directly open a solution.

Platform Windows

Thanks in advance.

With kind regards Rene

Hi Rene

Agree with Automazione it should work and your format is identical to links I use.

I tried to connect but had 'operation timed out' message - have you checked obvious things like db Service running and Firewall settings ??

hth

Hello Guys,

Thanks for replying.

I know you cant Access from outside the company.

I can't download the solution for the first time without disabeling the proxy settings in explorer (Proxy server is set to bypass local adresses and Servoy Server is listed in the exceptionlist).

But I doubt that has anything to to with this issue.

When solution is available on client you can open it without any settings change.

I'll just keep getting a full list of solutions while I want one solution to be available for some users for testing.

Any Ideas??

Just tried the following adress at home on a stand alone machine.

http://localhost:8080/servoy-client/ser ... n=helpdesk

But still the "Select Solution" dialog appears.

Specifics:
OS: Windows (NT, 2000, XP, 2003)
Servoy R2 2.1.2 build 315

I`m almost too embarassed to say

This link isn`t working

http://localhost:8080/servoy-client/ser ... n=helpdesk

But this one is

http://localhost:8080/servoy-client/ser ... n=Helpdesk

I have used a capital in my solutions name Helpdesk so it can`t find a solution called helpdesk therefore you`ll get the 'Select Solution' dialog.

But that leaves me with my second question.
Is it possible to launch a solution using a windows shortcut??? :?: :?: :?:

Thanks guys for replying.

Hi Rene

Thanks for sharing the answer with us. I tend to always use lower case and was not aware that the links are case sensitive. Very useful tip. Maybe you should send off to Servoy magazine.

Windows shortcut is easy - drag the URL from Explorer/Firefox address bar and it turns into shortcut. Can change icon/name as required.

All the best

Try this

Postby rkrservoy » Thu Dec 09, 2004 2:11 pm

Hello RENE,

Try this to make your project as executable ( Windows terminolory). When u have completely finished ur project , Make an executable java archive (.jar) file by selecting the Tools menu -> Plugins -> Servoy Runtime builder.
It is as same as the Package & Deployment Wizard of MS Visual Studio. When Servoy Runtime Builder is opened , it prompts for the solution for building executables.

I think u can try this.

Sorry rkrservoy by I'm sure Servoy Runtime has nothing to do with "Rene" problem! Servoy Runtime is a wonderfull way to distribute you applications, but for single DB applications, single user applications and is timebombed to 5 minutes if you do not buy the appropriate licence. I think Rene just wanted to deploy a shortcut for his servoy-client application.
