connection problems

Postby gstein » Sun Sep 04, 2005 3:50 pm

I am trying to go to the local website to launch the client application.

When I enter http://localhost:8080 into IE I get a blank white page.
I also tried replacling the localhost with my local IP address and get the same results.

I tried reinstalling servoy and selecting the option to run the server as a windows service. I then made sure the service is running, but that did not help.

What am I doing wrong?

Check to see if port 8080 is being blocked by a firewall or if port 8080 is being used by another web server. If you are using a router and the remote administration software of the router is using port 8080, then change the router's remote administration port number.

As far as I know, the only Webservers I have running is IIS using port 80 and a different instance of Tomcat (for a different application) using port 8090.

There is no firewall blocking 8080.

There is no router connected to this computer. There is a DSL modem that is shared by all of the computers on this lan.

I used PortRacer to confirm that 8080 is not being used on this computer.

Any other ideas?

Have you tried it with IIS and the other instance of Tomcat turned off entirely? Is the Windows XP firewall turned off at:
Start/Control Panel/Network Connections/Local Area Connection/Properties/Advanced (tab)/Settings

Yes. When IIS is off I get a page not found error.

<Is the Windows XP firewall turned off>

I am running Windows 2000 Professional
