frustrations on uing Smart Client with Trial Development

Postby Folkert » Thu Nov 23, 2006 10:26 am

Hi there,

I'm using the downloaded trial version of Servoy Developer 3.1 on a stand alone, single-user desktop windows XP PC.
I have developed a tiny program and i would like to try to use that program with Servoy Smart Client, but I can't get it to work.

My small programm only works when I first start Developer and then the Servoy Client.
But i want it to start in an end-user situation where the is no developer installed.
But an other startup sequence I tried gives a licence problem:
- a clean situation (developer has not run yet)
- I start dbserv9 (works fine, opens servoy_repository)
- then I start Sevoy Server (according to the Taskmanager it works)
- the I start the Servoy Client (it seems to work fine but when is shows the possible solutions, it also say maximum trial licences reached and the Client stops abruptly.

According to the Licence aggreement I should be able to install my little trial application on 500 single-user, standalone PC's.

What do I do wrong ?

greetings

You need to run either developer or server to run a client...

To run server you need a license. The trial license only works with developer.

See above.

Hope this helps

This part in the license points to the Servoy Runtime Edition. With Servoy runtime you can distribute 500 standalone servoy clients (on a cd or something).
