Postby Vince » Tue May 22, 2007 2:40 pm

Hi,

I've a solution that has a table comming from on odbc datasource.

I'm only using servoy developper right now and installing the odbc driver is painfull.

My question his : should I also install that odbc driver on each clients ?

No, under normal conditions all connections are made from the server.

Does it really have to be ODBC? As far as I know, you have two middle ware products working when you try to access ODBC from Java. Isn't there a JDBC driver for your database?

My database is ODBC only, and you have to say it fast and crossing fingers, because it has a proprietary odbc driver.

Othrerwise can servoy import xml like filemaker does (I mean is it built-in, I can't write an xml parser)

FYI, Servoy 3.x comes with an XML reader plugin. Or else use the commercial XML plugin from Patrick.
