Hi, does anybody know how we can prevent Firefox to store the jnlp-shortcut on my desktop every time we click on a link like this:

http://my-ipaddress:8080/servoy-client/ ... ution.jnlp

on my mac, my desktop becomes full of all kinds of shortcuts.
on my PC, it does not store a shortcut on the desktop,
It does downloads a file in the download manager.

With Internet Explorer, we don't see this behaviour.

Hi Harjo --

In Firefox preferences, Main tab, set the default directory for downloads to some directory other than the desktop. Then at least your desktop won't look so cluttered...

A Mac does seem to store the jnlp every time you click on an http link to a solution, the first click creating my_solution.jnlp, the next click creates my_solution-1.jnlp and so on.

But of course, once you have the jnlp on your hard drive you needn't click the link anymore, just double-click the jnlp.... that's how I've handled it here.

hth,

kazar
