Clients and iMacs

Postby tommygill » Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:27 pm

Hi all

I have new imacs(3) networked through Airport Extreem.

On iMacA I have Servoy Developer up and running. Great.

I can start Servoy Smart Client on iMacA with no problem.

I cannot start Servoy Smart Client on iMacB or iMacC. I just get a browser error message;
"Safari can't open the page 'http//127.0.0.1:8080/' because it could not connect to the server 'localhost'."
or
"Safari can't open the page 'http//127.0.0.1:8080/' because it could not connect to the server 'localhost'."

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Tom

Hi Tom,

Do you have the firewall enabled on those iMacs ?
If so try disabling it to see if it works then.

Hope this helps.

Re-reading your post makes me wonder what you are doing exactly.
Are you running developer/server on 3 macs and try to connect to that locally ?
Or are you trying to connect to developer/server on iMacA from iMacB/iMacC ?

If the latter then connecting to localhost won't do. You need to connect to the IP of iMacA.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your quick Response

I am running Developer on iMacA only and trying to connect iMacB and iMac C to iMac A with Smart Client.

Your Tip works great.
