List Form Component Container Bug

Postby Gordon McLean » Mon Sep 30, 2019 7:33 pm

I have been looking at including a List Form component as demonstrated in this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... qpLMLTyjME

Unfortunately the current version (Version: 2019.6.2.3504) of Servoy appears to have broken the component in that you can not select the Form Component in the contained form. I have tried a lower version of Servoy and this worked fine so I think its a bug that needs attention. I am not sure how to submit this to the team so hopefully someone at Servoy will take a look

Regards
Gordon

I have just tested it in the very latest (2019.09, don't have a 2019.06 running) and there it works. What do you mean by "that you can not select the form component"? The form picker does not open? It doesn't show any form components? Are you sure you are trying to add form components, not forms? Do you maybe have a relation set and no form component is based on the target table?

I tested the issue in 2019.6 and found it to not be working, so as a precaution I tested it in 2019.3 and found it worked as expected. This is a sample solution no joins and two forms one the componentForm and the other the main form, I stress in 2019.03 this worked. I upgraded the Servoy version to see if I could replicate the problem ie from 2019.3 to 2019.6 and in the installed state it worked ie as set up in version 2019.3, however when I tried to repeat the process it failed.

"The form picker does not open?" - yes the form picker opened however the only option was -none- ie no forms
It doesn't show any form components? - this is correct yes
"Are you sure you are trying to add form components, not forms?" yes because it worked in the previous version ie 2019.3
"Do you maybe have a relation set and no form component is based on the target table?" - there were no relations set

I will endeavour to upgrade to 2019.9 if this is working.

There is no disrespect to Servoy here for reporting what looks like a bug via the forum, I appreciate a) its likely I have made a mistake and thank you for the clarifications and b) Servoy in my 15 years experience has been largely reliable and bug free with issues resolved promptly

Hi,

I'm having exactly the same problem with Servoy Developer 2019.12. The form picker only displays NONE.
My list form component and list form component container have found sets based on the same table.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong...

Are you sure that the form component and the form where you want to add it have the same layout type?
The problem is we cannot mix absolute forms with css position forms, so those are filtered.
Is this your situation?

Hi, checking elements on the form component they all have the new CSS positioning coordinates.
The same goes for the form where I'm trying to use the component.

I'm on Mac OS X 10.15.4.

Then we need to have a look.
Please create a case and attach a solution containing the form and the form component.

Hi, I created a solution from scratch and when I do this the form-components work as expected...
The system I was trying to add the form component to has a long history, back to 2005...

Just want to mention that after importing into Servoy 2020.03 the list form components work much more predictably...
