Set default value for plugins.dialogs.showSelectDialog()

Postby roddy » Thu Sep 30, 2021 10:20 am

When using this plugin for a list of options, the initial select entry is always blank; it is possible to set the first option in the select as the default (this seems to be how it worked in S5).

Is a bit disconcerting to see the blank line each time until the drop down is selected.

I had a look at this a while ago.
Although it shouldn't be hard to make it work, I think it needs a change in the 3rd party package that Servoy is using.

Short term, you can create your own form which looks like the dialogs and create the behaviour you want.
This is the way I decided to go.

You can always file a feature request for this at support.servoy.com
Will definitely vote for it :-)

My clients are also "confused" when they do not see an option.
I will also vote for it.

@mboegem - how did you go about getting a return value from a dialog box you created yourself?
