Workshop Getting Started

Postby sean » Mon May 11, 2020 1:39 pm

Welcome to the Servoy Spring Workshop Series! We are totally excited to help you and we’ve been busy getting your spot nice and ready. However, there are some things you will need to do to be ready for next week.

Meeting Info

The workshop will consist of 8 virtual classroom sessions facilitated by a secure Zoom meeting. We hope that you are comfortable to share your webcam and your screen to make it interactive. (Please return the recording consent to @Yvo Boom if you haven't already done so) We’ll have coaches and breakout rooms so we can really get into it. You’ll find the schedule and connection info below.

The 1st meeting will be Tuesday May 12, 2020.

Workshop Agenda
All meeting times: 8:00am PST | 11:00am ET | 5:00pm CEST

Download Servoy Developer

It’s important that you download the latest version of Servoy Developer (2020.03) available here:

Click to Download Servoy

Install Servoy Developer

    Install with the default options.
Your workspace folder should be blank. If you have used Servoy before, please do not reuse an existing workspace.
When asked the question “Should a default PostgreSQL database be installed?” choose “Yes (include sample)”.
After launching Servoy Developer, do not create any objects, install any other plugins or extensions, etc.

Install Git Client

The workshop exercise will be connected to a Git source control repository hosted in the Servoy Cloud. Therefore you will need to install a Git Client. If you are already a git expert, then install your favorite git client. You’re done. If you are new to Git, you can install a recommended 3rd-party Git client and we’ll help you along!

Click to Download GitAhead
We’ve selected GitAhead because it’s fast, easy and 1-platform.

Troubleshooting

Please use this forum channel so we can crowd-source and share throughout the workshop. In the meantime, please mail me if you have any issues getting setup.
