New Servoy Support Site

Q&A regarding installation and issues getting started with Servoy

New Servoy Support Site

Postby steve1376656734 » Thu May 02, 2024 10:38 am

Hi,

I don't know if it is just me but there seems to be a number of issues with the new Servoy support site. Some of the issues I am having:

Critical Issues
  • It is impossible to create a new bug report - it says I cannot create issues in this project and gives me a screen with a dropdown for projects and the only one is the Documentation project (hence the reason for reporting the issues here!)
  • I cannot find a way to comment on an existing issue

Annoyances
  • The default dashboard is next to useless - I have created my own custom one which gives most of the same information as the old one but it would have been nice if Servoy had created a public dashboard to mimic the old one

Those are the things I have from the first 10 minutes of trying to use it. If I find any others I will list them here.

Please let me know if it is me that is doing something wrong or if you are also experiencing the same issues.

Thanks
Steve

Hi,

first experience was that Atlassian logged me in on an existing account, which was not the email address that I used to register on the old Servoy support.
I had to create a new Atlassian account for that.

The Servoy Product Extensions project looks good, but same experience: Servoy Product project dashboard is completely useless.
The latter is an overview of the current sprint, but it doesn't show me 'my cases'

If you click on the 'Filters' menu and choose 'View all filters', you will see one that is named: 'Filter for Servoy Product R&D'
That view is more like the old situation

Hi Marc,

Interesting!

We also use Atlassian and I have multiple Atlassian accounts (one for each of our companies) but I have separate browser profiles for them. I'm have checked and the account logged in to the new support site is definitely the correct one and I can see the issues previously logged by me (including the private ones) but I still cannot create an issue in any project other than the Servoy Docs one:

The dashboard I have created is not too bad compared to the old one:

Not sure where to go from here as I cannot even raise a bug report to say I can't raise bug reports (catch 22!)

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm sorry for any inconvenience. As we announced in a separate topic, we disabled some permissions while we tested.
You should have full access now to all your issues, etc. Please let us know if you have any more trouble.

Hi Sean,

All working now thanks but one observation I have is that the announcement about the maintenance is VERY hard to find! You have to scroll past all the messages in the announcements section going back to 2003 before getting to the Topics section where the post was made. It would make far more sense for all the announcements to be in the same section so the more recent ones appear at the top.

THanks
Steve

ah, you're right Steve. I didn't make it "sticky" so it got pushed way down. I had intended it to go right to the top, like a release announcement.
I'm sorry for the trouble.

No worries - you might want to make the Security Updates message and the Servoy Product Webinar message "sticky" as well

OK Done. I think it is usually set that way by default. Not sure how I missed it.

Thanks for catching that Steve!
