NullPointerException of just one Smart Client on Startup

Postby Bernd.N » Mon Aug 03, 2015 3:41 pm

Hello,

one user of a smart client got this message today when trying to launch our application:
"Anwendung kann nicht gestartet werden"
(in English it should be something like "Application can not be started")

That message windows came above the window "Anwendung wird verifiziert"
(= "Allplication gets verified" or something similar)
(see also picture...)

When pressing the Details button, there are the messages attached (see below).

What is interesting is that other users, including me, can start the application without problems.

Any ideas what could be the cause?

Thanks
Bernd

Latest Java Version solved it

Postby Bernd.N » Mon Aug 03, 2015 7:54 pm

We installed another Java Version today (there was an older Java installed, although it worked fine with that until today).
After installing Java Version 8 Update 51, that client runs again.

I guess there was something specific in the older Java version that created the issue, maybe a specific java configuration caused by a third-party-system.
