In preferences:
when i change the locale for date format from f.i. dd-MM-yyyy to MM-dd-yyyy the date displays are not dynamicly changed.
a close and (re)open solution does not do the trick either.
you actually have to exit servoy app. completely and re-start it to make it work. not sure if this is the correct behaviour?

also the date display in the CRM demo does not change to US-date-format on the field "follow up" in actions window.

tested with servoy 1.1 RC5, ran on MAC OSX 10.2.6

It is correct that you have to restart after changing your default locale. We don't expect users to change their locale all the time. We are planning to add a warning dialog for the changes in preferences for which you have to restart Servoy.

The reason you don't see a change in locale in the crm solution is that a custom formatting has been applied to that date field. If you use a custom formatting you override the locale settings.
