Request feature: indication of selected element in property

It would be very helpful while working on a form in design mode, to have confirmation of exactly which element's properties are currently selected and also what type of element it is. This may not be so important for advanced programmers, but us beginners could sure use the help!

Not sure what you mean by this.
When selecting an element in a form you always see all the properties that belong to that specific element.
When selecting multiple elements you get to see only the shared properties.

and also what type of element it is.

I guess you mean showing in the top of the properties list:
DATAPROVIDER or LABEL or TABPANEL...etc...?

Yes. It would prevent me from scanning the layout area for an element that is selected. Can get uite tedious if there are a lot of small elements or things layered under other elements.
