iPhone: unexpected results with "field > onAction"

Postby thertzler » Sun Oct 26, 2008 3:06 am

Safari on the iPhone opens the on-screen keyboard when tapping on a <field> although <editable> has been disabled (in <Table view>). Then the keyboard disappears and the web client executes the <onAction> method. Showing the <dataProvider> as a <label> circumvents the issue but for reasons of simplicity I'd rather use <field> and not <label>. Is there a solution to prevent this?

Nope! This is the screwed up way that Safari Mobile handles ALL <input tags.

It's labels - EVERYTHING else will give you the "keyboard" - even if it's marked as not editable. This is a Safari Mobile issue...

Well, after today's VUG I am just going to sit on my fat behind and wait for 4.1 :)

iPhone application:
• dispatch of fuel trucks at general aviation airports. no more yelling over he radio or phone.
• recoding of fuel transactions. no more unreadable fuel tickets.
