Suggested upgrade path from Servoy 6.0.8

Our primary webclient solution is using 6.0.8 - build 1237. That version of Servoy has been very stable for us (thank you Servoy).

What is the next logical version of Servoy for us to upgrade to? We care more about solid stability than cutting edge features. Also, how should we prepare for the upgrade? Are there any issues that we are likely to encounter that we should be aware of? All suggestions are welcome.

I look forward to seeing everyone at ServoyWorld 2014!

For webclient, 6.1.6 was a nice upgrade over 6.0.8 and where we are currently in a holding pattern at. But in the grand scheme of things, only an incremental improvement. Considering web client is completely dated at this point, not sure worth any significant engineering effort to upgrade. And moving to 7.x only worth it if you are using mobile client (and maybe smart client?) considering how few web client differences there are in 7.

If you can keep what you have going until Servoy 8 (with the new web client) has been out for a while and some best practices figured out by the community, that would be my recommendation.

David,

The Servoy 6.0.8 webclient has been working very well for our customers. We do not have an urgent need for mobile, so we may just wait for Servoy 8.

Thank you for your reply.

Dean

+1 on waiting until after 8 comes out!

6.1.6 is really stable...

There has been lot of (memory) optimising and tweaks and bug fixing in 7.4 also for the webclient and really stable

The major issue with upgrading to 6.1.6 is that Servoy (prematurely in my opinion) dropped support for the v6.1.x release series so if you do have a critical bug you won't be able to get any fix for it in v6.1.x but will be forced to upgrade to v7.x.
