99941 is on the long-term list and will not be included in 4.0.0.
99940 will be present in the final release of 4.0.0

Info

I want to be sure I understand correctly what the expectations are for applying LTR for the remaining items. You said RTL is not yet applied to:
    1. Form: what would you expect from a LTR form? The components inside it use absolute positioning. Do you expect them to be positioned as if the (0, 0) coordinate is in the right-upper corner of the form instead of upper-left?
    2. Navigator: the navigator should appear on the right hand side of the form in LTR.
    3. Toolbars (I think this one is clear)

Yes, plus
- Form's Vertical Scroll Bars should be moved to left
- Components should inherit the default form orientation if the component orientation was set to default
- components' vertical scrollbars should be moved to left
- Flip images (if possible)

Yes and the spinner, arrow should be pointing to left.

I don't think fliping all images is a good idea. Maybe you want do display a photo for example. Althoug it makes sense to flip some images...

I agree with you.

So keep the image flipping to be either a "scriptable" function, or we may have an option like "Flip" with value options of ("No", "Context")
and the context will read the parent's orientation.

Yep. I will add this note in the case for "orientation property on component level".

Special thanks for your efforts Andrei and all Servoy.

Just a question, is there and estimated date of when 99941 will be included?

Update on RTL

Postby Andrei Costescu » Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:14 am

Implemented toolbar and navigator RTL. These are available in the next public release of 4.0.

The form RTL orientation (mirroring element locations) will not be included in 4.0 as it requires some major changes (for example changes to print sliding - and the way web client absolute positioning works).
So this part of the case is postboned for a future release.

There is also no estimate for 99941 yet...

Update

Postby Andrei Costescu » Thu Jun 12, 2008 5:59 pm

Glad I can be of some assistance :).
It seems there are some new problems introduced in WC due to this change.

1. The default navigator in WC does not change position in RTL.
2. Custom navigators in WC always appear on the right side.

These regressions appear in Servoy 4.0 rc1 and are fixed in 4.0 rc2.

Re: Right to Left Support

Hi,

I have noticed that RTL is not working for 3.5.8 and 3.5.9
Plus it is not working on 4.1.2

Please have a look at it ...

and please advice when it will be possible to have the RTL option per components not only the overall solution.

Please reopen the cases that implemented what is no longer working. (maybe be more specific - what part of RTL is no longer working and on which client type)
