Form duplication improvement

Postby david » Tue Feb 09, 2010 8:04 pm

Can you change the Solution Explorer focus to the newly duplicated form?

Currently a new form editor is opened for the duplicated form and gains the editor focus. But in the Solution Explorer you're still viewing the source form and methods. Which coincidently look exactly like the duplicated form....

As a result, I have accidently created and deleted methods and relations on the wrong form more times than I can count now.

So you actually want the "link with editor"-button in the solution explorer to stick.

That is not possible at the moment, please create a feature request in the Support System.

Joas, this has happen to me also, once.

I think David, does not mean, stick, but after you have duplicated the form, set the explorer in sync (just once)

Now that I'm thinking about it, a stick (option) is also nice! :-)

this is funny...

In the java editor and the package explorer it does stick.. And i HATE it .
Thats why i build in none sticky...

Because every time i go to another editor it bounces in the tree like a mad man.
For example i see i want to open a java file in explorer and i just clicked on the close tab button and it jumps then to another editor
And then suddenly i am at a completely different location then the java file i just did see in the editor that i wanted to open
now i have to scroll all the way back to it again.
Thats just eclipse being to smart. I want to be in control. Now i always try to remember that i have to just click twice on the sticky link to editor so that it is never enabled by default
but sadly i do forget that pretty often.. And then the next time i am again for a surprise that it jumps all over the place (especially when closing editors)
