Would it be possible to add a getter for obtaining a solutions first-form name? Since 5.2.3 something in the forwarding mechanism that shows the first form after login() is broken, and I am having to hardcode a show form for each solution (in addition to setting the first form property at the solution level).
Getter would help if the problem is not going to be resolved.
I have not filed one, but I am unsure if there is an existing case for it or not because not all cases are public. If there is no case, I am glad to file one. Please confirm.
As far as i know there is no such case yet
Also just file anything you find, we will make it a duplicate and reuse the extra information we get from that case to solve it.
I just received an update on this case as follows:
"Status: closed-waiting for feedback
Resolution:
Hello,
Please attach a small sample solution that shows this issue.
Regards,
Servoy Support"
Please tell me what the point is in telling me to create a case, when all you plan to do is close it until I give you a sample solution!? Seriously you guys, this sample-solution-required-for-support concept is really very frustrating. How about instead of me submitting a sample solution to help you fix your regression, how about instead you look at whatever code you changed in security.login or anything related that may have caused the regression in the first place (between 5.2.2 and 5.2.3).
we just can’t reproduce it at all.
It is not that simple by just looking at some changes. The login/security code in smart/web connected to an app server and smart/web when developing and with enhanced flag on or of do have many many possible ways of execution.
And you seem to be the only person who has this behavior and reproduce able
This is pretty much the behavior of everything i know… If i report a bug at sun, they ask for sample code (most of the time if possible i just point them right into the source code where it goes wrong because i most of the time have already debugged it for them), if you would use wicket itself as a java lib for you java web application and you did find a bug, then the first thing they will ask for a small sample. So it is not that we are special in this area.
Well we asked 3 times for a sample solution since we cannot reproduce the issue you descibe (over a period of several months)
Your answer is “no time to create a repoducable case”, after trying and retrying we have no choice then close the case.
jbader:
Got it. No sample solution === no support.
that’s simply NOT true, have dozens of issue’s reported, but always with some sample code, OR telling in what ‘scope/situation’’ I am.
But yes, IF they can’t reproduce it, how do they have to fix it??
We are using the firstform property in ALL our solutions, and never saw this behaviour what you have (using the security or enhanced security, of non-security, always works fine)
so a couple of question’s:
what version do you work with?
mac or windows?
working with servoy security? (enhanced? so using the authenticator?)
can you post here some code that you use to login?
jbader:
Got it. No sample solution === no support.
We end-up making TWO sample solutions to prove to you it does work for us, and asked what part is different on your side!
There is just nothing more we can do, unless you provide more details (preferable via a sample solution)
Considering this, your statement does not make any sense.
