add reliationship seems to hang application

Can no longer add a reliationship in developer, servoy appears to hang or the relationship window is not visible

This probelm appeared last week in Servoy R2 1.2
Windows XP
I’ve since installed Servoy 2.0RC7 but get the same problem.

When i click add a relationship nothing seems to happen, servoy acts as if the relationship window has popped up, perhaps out of view. So i can no longer access any other servoy functions or commands and have to end task.

When i do end task windows task manager shows servoy is still running and has NOT stopped responding. When i end task servoy i first get a pop up saying the application is waiting for a response from me. but there is no window visible for me to be able to do anything so i have to end task.

any suggestions? this had me stumped for a week

This sounds like a java VM problem. Do you have the correct version of Java installed? What output do you get if you open a command prompt and type:

java -version

is that recent enough.. it worked fine last week is it posssible for it to corrupted should i try reinstalling it anyway

that is the latest.

are you sure that there is no dialog/window visible?
can you minimize all youre applications (show desktop) and then click only on servoy. Doesn’t any thing come up what ever you try?

is there some info in the .log.txt (in youre servoy root dir)?

all with all other applications minimised and viewing only servoy.
still no window.. have tried with servoy window maximised and not maximised (50% of screen 70% of screen etc)

i can select other applications using the task bar.. but if i click anywhere on the servoy window it just beeps at me as im ignoring a dialog window

it only seems to happen with reliationship function… all other functions are ok. except “Place Bean” but i think that is just a bit slow as at least the bottom servoy status bar show something is happening, it says “placing field” and the status icon is moving from left to right. I dont get that with add relationship but then im not sure that im meant to.

i cant see anything recent in the .log.txt

i think i may be having an issue with “Place Bean” function as well..

i left the app for over an hour after clicking “place bean” and obviously it should not take that long… although all the time the status bar showed that something was happening.

i wonder if there was a window that i could not see

what do you think is the best way out of this one? Should i uninstall and reinstall?
