Can not export solution (new twist?)

Noted recent posts on repository export problems (http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?t … t&start=15).

Recently, I did a dump/reload of a Postgres database (including reinitialization of the PG database), including the Postgres repository. All was routine.

All connections to PG are working fine and I am able to work routinely within Servoy (work saves fine etc).

All is normal except I can’t get an export of my solution to happen (I do this on a regular basis for an additional backup safety net). What was a daily routine for me doesn’t work anymore.

I know that Servoy is talking well to the repository. Work is saving fine, I can change the password in the Preferences, DB Servers screens and reset to my current password and all is well … Servoy comes back up just fine.

Now I get this error message:

org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: password authentication failed for user “postgres”
org.apache.commons.dbcp.DbcpException: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: password authentication failed for user “postgres”
org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: password authentication failed for user “postgres”

Suggestions? Yes, I have changed the password for superuser “postgres”. It does work fine (or else Servoy Developer would not be accessing it routinely). I have tried the export with and without included modules.

Suggestions appreciated!

I’ve seen this happen if password authentication is turned off in the pgahba.conf

Thanks, Jan. That fixed it.

IPv4 param set as follows:

$ cat pg_hba.conf

TYPE DATABASE USER CIDR-ADDRESS METHOD

“local” is for Unix domain socket connections only

local all all trust

IPv4 local connections:

host all all 127.0.0.1/32 trust

IPv6 local connections:

host all all ::1/128 trust

Glad that fixed it. Had something similar a few years ago. Every database has it’s particular do’s and don’ts!
