can't connect to repository server...

I am on 2.1b5 (Win XP, latest Java) and all worked fine untill I installed a wireless LAN.
Since then I get the ‘‘can’t connect to repository server specified in app. pref., reason: unable to complete network request to host localhost’’ -message.
I then de-installed the LAN but the message remains and I am still not able to use developer.
Same thing occured when I installed a USB blue tooth stick.
Any help will be appreciated.

sounds like sybase isn’t starting up. do you see any errors in sybase_log.txt in the sybase_db directory?

Sybase_log.txt is missing in the sybase_db folder, so this will not give us any info.
Meanwhile I installed my daily back up  and developer is running again.
How come that the log-file is missing? Pretty sure I did not remove it.

Strange, do you have a logfile now?

No log file was still missing.
Have re-installed 2.1b5 and log file is now present!
I will soon be trying to get Wireless LAN to work.
In case Servoy again won’t start up I will see if the log file is still there and see what it reports.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks so far Jan.

This is what the Sybase_log shows after installing a wireless Lan.
There is something wrong in de settings of de TCPIP.
How do I restore the settings in XP?
TIA.

Fatal init, could not load the database server definitions from: servoy.properties

Can you share a bit more details?
Does this error always occurr?
Also if you disable other networking interfaces?
Is there an IP assigned to the wireless adaptor?
Is it possibly in the same subnet as you wired connection?
Do all other (networked) applications work correctly?
What wifi card are you using?
Are you using the latest driver for it?

After two days of struggle I gave up, removed de card and did a system recovery. This was the only way to get Servoy running again.
BTW, I did not get the wireless lan working, probably because it was not XP compliant.
