I have installed the latest beta of Servoy Developer but when I run the app I have and error “Can’t connect to the repository server specified in the application preferences” with the following details
“org.firebirdsql.jdbc.FBSQLException: Resource Exception. Unable to complete network request to host “localhost”.
Reason: Unable to complete network request to host “localhost”.”
When the app has finished booting I have minimal menu commands under File only Page setup and Exit, the others are greyed out.
Any help would be appreciated
Are you on OS X, Windows 95/98/ME ? If yes then did you reboot?
If not then reboot, delete all files in the database directory of Servoy EXCEPT EMPTY.GDB, delete servoy.properties in Servoy directory and relaunch Servoy. That will perform a full initialization.
Sorry, I forgot to mention the OS. I am on XP Pro. I followed your directions re rebooting and deleting files and properties, unfortunately with no success
Did you install Firebird? Firebird is the default database engine that ships with Servoy if you don’t install it or it isnt running you will get the error you describe. If you did install Firebird, can you check if it is running? You can check that in the Services section in the Administrative tools in the Control Panel.
I have the same problems with the latest Servoy-built
I am on XP.
Never had any problems with previous releases.
I got a message at the end of the installation: …servoy/service/wrapper.exe
create service failed…, I think that’s de reason of the problem.
Strange thing is that now the older versions wo’nt install either.
I first removed both Fireworks and Servoy from HD as usual, before
installing the new version.
What is going on?
I don’t know what was wrong.
I rebooted, reinstalled the software.
The message that the wrapper.exe was already installed showed up,
again but did not cause any problems.
After installing RC 7 I get the message that the repository is too new and can’t be opened. “Repository is newer than software! Repository version: 19, software version: 16, upgrade software first”
I am also having trouble installing on my W XP laptop. I get the message: “Can’t connect to the repository server specified in the application preferences”
I have tried all the suggestions posted to no avail.
I have also sought email help and been asked whether I had multiple IP addresses (yes – 2), and VNP (I think so – I have a wireless connection), and firewall software (yes). But I haven’t heard about what to do if I do have these things. Any suggestions?
