Cant delete a Label

I deleted a label on a form, saved the form, closed and opened the solution.

The label reappears. No matter how many times I delete it when I reopen the solution its back in place again?

How can I get rid of it - and why is it reappearing like a phantom from the past, its  and driving me nuts…

Any suggestions on how to determine whats going on here?

This label has no properties and I cant seem to edit at all and it only shows up in the smart client (not in a browser).

Try going to the Resources Perspective and deleting it from there.

Have you got any markers in the Problems tab in Eclipse related to the label?

Paul - since this happened I’ve been getting a lot of Duplicate UUID’s in the error page, and when I click on QuickFix they go away for this session but come back if I close and reopen developer.

This is getting very strange. I managed to delete the offending label in the navigation panel, and the solution looked good. On restarting developer the errors are back (dupe UUID’s) and QuickFix gets rid of them but after the fix the label is back too!

What might cause duplicate UUID’s Paul?

Ian

The label reappearing is caused by the duplicate UUID’s. What caused the duplicate UUID’s I cannot tell.

Maybe it’s due to the dropbox construction you use, maybe something else.

Within Servoy Developer, there ought to be no actions that result in duplicate UUID’s. If there are, they would be bugs that need fixing.

I’ve seen workspaces with a lot of duplicate UUID’s in them, but so far, we were never able to track down the source of them.

A couple of steps to get going again: Check out all your solutions into a fresh workspace and see if that workspace has the same issue. If not, delete the old workspace and you’re done.

If a fresh checkout doesn’t solve it, it’s probably time for some cleaning up, but lets first try the fresh checkout into a new workspace before going into that :)

Paul - appreciate your feedback.

I thought at first this might be a DropBox challenge and because of that I’m using th workspace located on my desktop intead.

Can you tell me:

  1. How do I get a clean workspace?
  2. How do I check-out the solution from the current workspace into a clean one?

Ian

You can create a new workspace through File - Switch workspace - Other and then point it to another directory (or choose Browse and create a new directory)

You cannot checkout your solutions from a workspace, you need to check them out from a Team Provider (Servoy repository, SVN, CVS, whatever you are using). Off course you need to have shared your solutions into such a team provider first, before being able to check them out.
