Can't get Client to display correctly.

I’ve been through the CRM web demo carefully and read Bob’s sticky - but I’m having lots of problems.

Here’s some of the issues I am having.

  1. I created a very small test solution with a couple of related tables. I set up a simple tabform with two related tabs. This works fine in the normal client but not in the web client. In the web client the tabs display but with no data. When I click on any tab it tries to launch the the Java Client.

  2. I always have to close down the development tool and the server and restart in order to see any changes through the web client. Simply saving the changes doesn’t do the trick.

  3. Whenever I click on the “Web Client Launch” button within Developer it takes me to the first Form of my application rather than the form that I have open within Developer. The only way I can get to the form I want to view is to navigate to templates area.

  4. I can’t yet find a way to edit the templates with an HTML editor. It seems I need a WebDav client - but so far I haven’t got this to work correctly.

Over the last 24 hours I’ve been getting increasingly frustrated, in trying to get any productivity out of Version 3 - as a web development tool - as much as I would like to see it work and be able to adopt it.

  1. Make SURE you’re using Java 1.5 - it’s REQUIRED for 3.0 and Web Client.

  2. Use Firefox and hold down control+shift and then refresh. Changes are instant.

  3. That is the default behaviour - since Servoy has to re-generate the solution.

  4. Use Dreamweaver.
