Cant Sum Calculated fields in trailing subsummary

Hi

I have a report within which i have a number of calculated and aggregate fields within a trailing sub summary.

The first sub summary groups data by complex, then plant, then by year and provides a numerical breakdown of costs per complex/plant and year, all good so far.

I then have another trailing sub summary to give me a row of subtotals of the previous.sub summary. This is grouped by Complex and plant only.

The sub totals work fine if my fields are based on an aggregate, but the fields based calculations give only the data for the last row in the previous trailing sub summary.
The calculations are aggregates added together ie the sum of 2 or more aggregate fields. The calculations are non stored.

Does anyone understand why calculations based on aggregates would be behave in this way?

Hi McCourt,

Not really a direct answer to your question but why are you not using JasperReports for these type of complex reports?
Jasper is so much more suited for these kind of things.

Hi

I think we will be integrating Jasper in the future, however as time is of the essence right now, we need to have some basic cross tab reports in place ideally by monday.
We simply don’t have time to get into Jasper right at this minute, so any help with a temporary work around would be brilliant.
