Check duplicate values in a portal

I do have this issue…

I want to check of the number that I type into a field (in a portal) allready exist in the same field from other records (in same portal).

Is there a neat way to do this (besides a loop script..) ?

Check out the tip by Enrico posted today at Servoy Magazine. Put this question in the comments section and I’m sure he’ll come up with the SQL statement you would need to use for a portal field uniqueness check. It would be good to have this extension to the tip documented.
