creating NON-stored calculations

Not sure what’s happening here - it’s seems that I can create one non-stored calculation for a table then I can only create stored calculations.
More specifically, the first non-stored calculation I created worked (after one false start) - that is I was able to enter the calculation name as other than an existing DB column name.
On attempting to repeat this I can enter a name (as distinct from selecting one from the drop-down list) but when I choose the returned type then the name I typed vanishes :-(
Am I attempting the impossible?

Thanks,
Neale.

PS: Servoy 1.1rc5, linux, java 1.3.1

It’s a Java 1.3.1 issue. You can work around it by first pressing TAB before leaving the field.
I strongly recommend to upgrade to java 1.4.2 on linux. You will notice that it runs faster, smoother and you’ll get keyboard shortcuts (not avail with java 1.3.1)

Thanks for the workaround.

Yes, I’ll try to get java 1.4 happening too.

Thanks,
Neale.
