Data plug-in v3.0 can now really update a MS Excel sheet

It is now possible to update an Excel sheet per cell!

The ‘new’ approach fully respects existing formatting and formula’s.

The plug-in is part of the new installer.

v3.0 is also compatible with Servoy 2.2.x (the beta version was not).

When you decide to update but still have the old version(s) of our components (or the CyberSack components) installed you need to know that the new components are not compatible with the old ones.
It is advised to first read the Developer Manual we created for this process…

WHOA! Nice. Is it possible to create a new Excel sheet and fill it out, or just update an existing sheet?

Both, however:

  1. Creating a new excel sheet will not include formatting and functions (yet).
  2. Updating a new excel sheet respects excisting formatting and functions but you can not (yet) create new formatting and functions.

The next release of the Data plug-in will further add formatted cells next to the SCRIPTING of import and export. SCRIPTING can be done via the dialog/wizard (very much like Servoy but more sophisticated) and can be stored!!!
