Hi,
Is there a way to force the deletion of Servoys internet temp files, when installing the smart client??
i dont think so, why do you want that?
It shouldnt matter to much. Do you want to delete an old version first before installing?
We do it often (but not automatically), when a client gets stuck in what we call the “4 minute spinning Servoy logo”. Sometimes a client won’t open – and the user calls and says “the donut is spinning and has been for 4+ minutes.” At which point we go over and remove the .servoy folder from their user directory in the C:\Documents and Settings folder. This solves the problem, and they can once again login quickly.
We have also occasionally had to clear the java cache from the advanced tab of the java control panel – usually for testers to see new versions of plugins/beans.
beans/plugins should be updated auto (when you restart the server)
to know what really goes wrong with that 4 min spinning logo we should have the before and after versions of that .servoy dir… Then we can look what settings makes that suddenly happen.
