Elements of form going missing intermittently in 3.5.x

Hi all, just come across a strange bug in both Developer and Client. Some code fails intermittently. When looking in the debugger, all the elements of a form have suddenly disappeared. Switching to design mode and back in developer fixes the problem. Mac OS X (various), Java 1.5 and 6.

can you reproduce it somehow?
Make a case if you can.

If I can work out how this happens, I will make a case.
It took me about an hour to get it to happen the last time I tried.
