Are people experiencing the same issues as me?
When making a form, the focus on objects is a headache; you have to click twice the drag objects, sometimes you must slow down otherwise it does not do what I expect: for instance, deleting several forms one after each other requires to wait in between each, otherwise only the 1st one is done.
Some properties are not handy, you enter a value, but it is validated by “tab” only, not by “enter”. and x being separate from y would be better than having to type a comma in between.
Forms width cannot be extended with the mouse… Changing the text of a label requires to double click 3 times the normal speed, otherwise, you end up in the properties box… if you’re lucky.
I have tried to use the pdf_rendering plug-in, supposed to be installed with 3.1. but no way to locate it… I just have the pdf_output one.
why are transparencies going nuts on mac when using the kunstoff laf on PC at design time? (no re-tested with 2.2, that last one)
All the beans shipped with the basic install should be documented, not everybody is a java developer.
This is my 3rd attempt to leave filemaker for servoy, but still too many weaknesses… I would love to move but still don’t feel confortable with it…
It does take a bit of getting used to I suppose, but what you have to remember is that Filemaker has been around for over 15 years, whereas Servoy is very new and although maturing swiftly, still can be a little rough round the edges.
Having said that once you get used to its foibles, none of them remain a barrier to development. And once you have sampled the vast potential of Servoy and its friendly and highly responsive development team, you wont look back.
At the end of the day, you have to make up your own mind.
