My form layout has disaapeared (lierally) in design view. When loading the form I receive the error “can’t set up form” with no details. After I press OK the form continues to lead, but some objects on the form are missing. When I first switched to design view, the layout screen was totally blank Swithching back to form view shows the same partially loaded form. I’ve tried switching between form view and design view several times and now design view is showing the form background but with no controls. The same partially loaded form with some objects missing always shows in form view.
The form has been working fine until now. The only change I made before this happened was to change the format of a date field on the form. I saved and switched to form view. That was when I first got the error message.
All data providers, methods, relationships, value lists etc are intact, but something has gone very wrong with the layout.
Any ideas on what’s gone wrong and how to prevent this from happening again? Importantly, how can I recover the form?

what does the .log.txt say in youre servoy directory?

Thanks for the prompt reply and apologies for my delay. Jan Aleman has a recent copy of the solution and SQL database that I uploaded recently for a different problem. I’d be happy to upload again if needed.
I’ve looked at the .log file. Lots of info there but I’m not sure what I’m looking for. I can upload that as well if you’d like.
The problem occurs on several forms and has become acute. I redid the form that was the problem when I first posted this. I’ve since discovered that I have the same problem for about half of the forms in the solution.
The solution contains about 350 forms that were converted from FMP. Jan helped us a lot with the conversion (and actually did the final conversion). I’m trying to do all the cleanup on the things the convertor didn’t handle gracefully, but finding this is a far bigger job than expected. I’m hoping (actually praying) that we do not need to redo all the problem forms from scratch. Not a chance of bringing this in on schedule if we need to do that.
I’m running R2.1 Beta 3. Any help you or Jan can give me on this would be enormously appreciated. Let me know how I can help from this end, including FTP uploads if you need them.

Now a quick question about downloading from the Servoy site. Either something is acting strange under my logon or I’m going to be very embarrassed. How can I get to the downloads area? I don’t see any way to do this from the Forum. I’ve tried going to Servoy.com directly, then to the Dowloads page, then to the Developers page. When I try to logon I get the logon error “Username and password that have been supplied are incorrect”. So the only way I can get in at this point is from the Forum.
I also noticed that even though I have the “Notify me when a reply is posted” option on, I am not receiving any email notifications. That was the reason it took me so long to reply back the first time - I didn’t realize anyone had answered yet.
Could there be something wrong with my account setup?

Setting up a Servoy forum account does not register you as a developer –
and you need to be registered in order to get access to the download areas.

Thanks for the clarification, but still problems. I followed your instructions, registered as a developer and received the email notifying me of my user name and password. Now when I try to logon using that name and password nothing happens - no error message, but no access to the developer site either. It simply keeps me on the logon page. Did I miss something?
Also, I’m still not receiving email notification of replies posted to the forum. Shouldn’t I have received an email notifying me of your reply?
