Formating Text Style in Developer

I like to change the text style and size within the developer.
If i use the properties-editor it works great.
But what about using the Text toolbar ? Can can set changes to a field e.g. change font size, but it has no effect. The text toolbar does not work in Design Mode on fields.

font properties have to be set with the properties panel.
it will not be very easy to implement this by using the text toolbar.
