Again, maybe a dumb question. But… where do I get the “Server Installer”. I have Servory Developer and 2 client licenses and have been working strictly with Developer as it is installed on my local workstation. I would like to try to setup a server and see how the deployment scheme works and try a small test app.
Need some step by steps to get started down this road.
Assuming you on Windows try: Start/All Programs/Servoy/Servoy Server
Unless Server is installed as a Service you start Developer - which fires the SQL Server - start Servoy Server - then close Developer. You’ll see a significant performance increase without Developer running.
FWIW I am hosting/testing three customer solutions on a basic Dell P4/2.8/1Gb and external Client access times are excellent. Full text search of 39,000 documents (@80mb) returns list in 10-12 seconds - FoundsetUpdater takes <2 secs on 6,000 records, and ‘round-trip’ from one Client updating to another seeing the calculated results on a Summary page is usually <5 secs.

Thanks! So it’s all handled through the developer installer? It’s just a matter of telling Servoy to run as a service?
I can setup with Windows Server 2000 or 2003. Any pros/cons to either platform?
This is where I step back & let the real experts come in
Haven’t mastered getting Servoy Server to run auto as a Service - although only tried briefly. I’m just running on XP - be interested to hear how much faster a proper Server OS runs.

Well, I’m installing 2000 Server to start. Big PITA to get a new box running. Virus software, etc.
I think 2000 has a little less overhead then 2003, so I picked it to start.
