I had a test database (sybase) running on 3.56 that I saved to disk. I changed to servoy 4, created a new database with the same name and imported the app with the web admin page. I then replaced the new database with the original one thinking I would then have back all my data. It not only didn’t work It broke all the other data servers, too. Is this not the correct way?
I have thought about zipping up the entire servoy directory when I switch machine (I do that lots of times) but I feel foolish and think that there is something I am missing.
How do most of you solve this? I have one Dev. license and 30 Client licenses. I don’t think I need two or three Dev. Licenses as I only use one machine at a time?
What can you find in the sybase server error log ?
Did you change the servoy installation path ?
I had the same kind of problem with one Sybase Database because of the path of his database log file was absolute and not relative to database location
then the sybase server didn’t want to start
I forgot about the log file. That may have been the problem. not sure, I decided to do a clean install and start all over.
I still am unsure about the best way of moving, saving, archiving, ect. I have resorted to carring my 24 inch imac with me for the week of vacation…
I am currently zipping the entire servoy folder AND the servoy_workspace onto a jump drive. I have no idea if this will allow me to do a clean restore onto another machine.

As long as the paths are exactly the same for both folders then you can do this. Servoy/Eclipse stores (and uses) full paths in a couple of places.
