Import image from solution problem

Hello,

I have described this somewhere else, but I didn’t hear anything about it recently. Here is the problem, reproducable every time just a described here:

  1. go to designer
  2. click on the “add image” button
  3. click “import from solution”
  4. immediately you see the solution selection dialog
  5. If your solution has lots of images, it takes a while leaving a grey box from the solution selection dialog; CPU goes up to the top for a moment
  6. Choose an image, click OK
  7. click “import from solution” again
  8. choose the same solution
  9. CPU doesn’t move at all, the grey shadow from the solution selection dialog stays and image list never appears.

Every time that happens, you have to force-quit Servoy. The only way to prevent the problem as far as I found out is to go to browse mode, go back to designer and import the next image. Pretty awful if you have 20 images to import…

Thanks Patrick

On which version?

Here on:
Servoy Developer
Version R2 2.2rc2-build 320
Java version 1.4.2_04-b05 (Windows XP)

works flawless!

with

Servoy Developer
Version R2 2.2rc2-build 320
Java version 1.5.0_01-b08 (Windows XP)

on my machine it always happens…

In the servoy italian forum http://www.nesys.info/servoy-it/viewtopic.php?p=1257 a couple of users are also reporting the same anomaly, using:

Servoy Developer
Version R2 2.2rc1-build 319
Java version 1.4.2_07-b05 (Windows XP)

I still have that issue. I get the error exactly as described above EVERY time I do that.

I can’t believe nobody else has that problem. This happens on

Servoy Developer
Version R2 2.2rc3-build 321
Java version 1.5.0_02-b09 (Windows XP)

The only workaround is to import one image, change to browse mode, go back to designer and import the next. This is especially annoying since I need to import a bunch of images every time I create a new module…

Just had to force quit Servoy again. This problem still exists.

Hi Patrick,

Can you file an issue here: http://crm.servoy.com/servoy-webclient/ … oy_support

Thanks.

I hope they don’t start to hate me there :D

If that was the case, I must have been dead, by now!

i am trying to reproduce that (currently on the latest 3.0 code)
but i can’t seem to be able to reproduce that with the steps you decribe.

Those are our favourites, no?

Anyway, most people do not seem to have that problem. I can reproduce that at any time. It only happens if you try to import from another solution (not from file).

I am using

Servoy Developer
Version R2 2.2.5_02-build 337
Java version 1.5.0_06-b05 (Windows XP)

and it really happens any time you do it?

So from a clean start, open a simple solution, don’t do anything else except go to design place an image and then import it from another solution. (and again i guess)

Didn’t you have to move several times the first year after Servoy was released??? :)

As far as I see, I was never able to import two images after each other. So the answer is yes.
