Intro To Java For Servoy Developers

Hey Forum Folks,

I wanted to draw your attention to a TERRIFIC new white paper by Jeff Bader of OMNESOFT - “Java For Servoy Developers”. It’s a great resource for those of us who want to get some more power out of Servoy by leveraging Java - but don’t know how to start.

It’s a VERY good guide - and one that I personally HIGHLY recommend!

You can get it at: http://java-servoy.blogspot.com

Special THANKS to Jeff for taking the time to create such a great resource for the Servoy Community!

Hi Bob,
where can we find this whitepaper?

Please find the attachment

java_for_servoy_developers.pdf (1.06 MB)

Click on “Java for Servoy Developers” under the whitepaper heading.

Or you can download directly here: http://www.omnesoft.com/downloads/java_for_servoy_developers.pdf

Thanks so much for the accolades Bob!

Hi Jeff,

excellent work, thank you! It’s really an “eye opener” for me.

Hello all,

I am in the process of updating my Java for Servoy Developers whitepaper for Servoy 4/Rhino 1.6 and I though I would ping the community to see if there was anything specific that folks wanted to see included, or further expanded upon.

The updated whitepaper will already have a lot more information and examples, but I am open to letting the community choose some topics.

If you have something you want to see in the whitepaper, please reply to this topic and I’ll do my best to get it into the updated whitepaper.

As the last whitepaper was, this one will be FREE

thx

Hi,
First of all thanks for asking and for the last white paper, I found the information really interesting.

The only section that I would love to see expanded on is jdesktop and its application in servoy, “maybe a howto showing the process of setting up a basic solution” ???

Thanks

No problem. I will elaborate on the JDesktop component in this version and include a code sample. Thanks for the reply, and for your comments.

Great,
Thanks Jeff,
I will look forward to it.
