IP Protection - Some advice on Scenarios?

Hi,
Since I’m just a Rookie, really, I’d like to get some input on what implementation scenarios are possible with Servoy. This is my list for discussion right now…

  1. Smart Client in a large installation.
  2. Smart Client in a small installation (which may be the same as 1).
  3. Saas installation on a company controlled web server (basically, an intranet installation).
  4. Saas installation on the Internet (I’m not entirely clear what options there might be here, other than the Web client).
  5. Runtime installation

I’m not entirely clear that even these are correct. I’m going to look into it further, but if someone has the definitive answer, that would be helpful.

Hi Nicola,

For this particular topic, I was just attempting to build a list of scenarios for implementation of a Servoy solution. So, just sort of a “how could you do it?” list. I’ll then just make each of them a separate discussion topic. Some may end up being duplicates of each other, and that’s ok. We’ll just note that and move on.

I’m just trying to provide a structure where folks could provide thoughts based on their own experience as to what the potential risks are in each scenario, and how to mitigate them. If no one participates, it will be a short list :) And that’s ok; I just thought it’d be worthwhile to give it a try.
