IT2BE Calender Bean version 3.0

Next month we will start developing version 3.0 of our Calendar Bean.

It will be a 80-90% rewrite, necessary to fulfill all feature requests (many !).

Some of the highlights are:

  • placement of calendar, category tree, date picker elements seperately (info field will disappear since this can be created by the dev);
  • more text/layout options displaying a calendar item;
  • more mouse and keyboard events;
  • more flexibility with categories;
  • and more…

When you already sent in your feature requests you don’t have to re-send them, they are stored :)
When you have wishes that you have not yet asked for please let us know via our support site (http://www.it2be.com/helpdesk).

We should be able to show you the first results in september/october. By that time we will also need a few alpha/beta testers.
When you would like to test and/or influence the developing process please let us know at contact@it2be.com.

Cheers,

Marcel

Hi Marcel,

This sounds great! But what about Web compatibility?
And in general do you have any plan to make you beans/plugins web compatible one day?

Plans enough, even longstanding ones :)

But right now demand was/is low for it and it has to be commercially interesting…

The Calendar Bean is the first candidate. Once the new version is ready I will work on it.

I know some people in marketing that would say that it is the other way round: it’s up to you to create the demand by showing people they can’t live without it :D

I would say it works both ways.

One does field and/or desk research.

When the outcome is so that it is of interest things will happen.
When the outcome is not things might happen.

When a client ‘stimulates’ development goals are reached earlier…

Today we started with the development of the new Calendar Bean.
Yes, 2 days earlier :)

You can read more about the progress we make with the development on our home page at http://www.it2be.com/.

I hope you will all like it.
