IT2BE LDAPclient Plug-in v2.0 goes read and write

We are very proud that we can announce the direct availability of version 2.0 of our LDAPclient Plug-in for Servoy.

With the ‘old’ version is was already possible to authenticate against an LDAP server like Open LDAP, MS Active Directory, Kerio MailServer and Novell eDirectory.
It was also possible to read users and other entries from the LDAP server.

With version 2.0 we added the possibility to add, change and delete entries.
Not only can you work with ‘normal’ attributes of an entry but also with password attributes.

For more information please have a look at Servoy Components – Plugins, Beans, Web Components, Angular Services & Servoy Developer Consulting.
It is also possible to download a trial version at Servoy Components – Plugins, Beans, Web Components, Angular Services & Servoy Developer Consulting or via the Update Manager of your Servoy Developer.
Existing users without a Subscription can upgrade via our Store Servoy Components – Plugins, Beans, Web Components, Angular Services & Servoy Developer Consulting. Existing users with a Subscription can submit a sales ticket in our support system (Servoy Components – Plugins, Beans, Web Components, Angular Services & Servoy Developer Consulting), mentioning their registration name, to obtain a new license.

Excellent update Marcel! Are the updates also supported on Mac’s implementation of LDAP?

Thanks Scott,

To be honest, I have not tested it but I guess so.

As you can see it has been tested to work on Open Ldap, Kerio, Active Directory and eDirectory.

When you are familiar with Ldap you know that each and every implementation has its own little habits.

Open Ldap has proven to be easiest to set up and configure.

As far as I know Apple’s Directory is Open Ldap with some additions here and there.
So, it should just work.

The new version of the LDAPclient Plug-in has an extra class/Object added to be more generic than the older version.
That makes it a bit friendlier to configure.

When you are familiar with Ldap you know that each and every implementation has its own little habits.

Indeed! And I can attest that the plugin’s write functioinality works well with E-Directory, which is finicky to say the least.

Kudos Marcel!!
